Raoul Picello (53) has been appointed Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa for INFINITI Motor Company, effective Oct. 1, 2016. Picello, currently Vice President of Sales for Nissan in Europe, succeeds François Goupil de Bouille, who is leaving the company to pursue other interests.

Renault Sport Formula One Team experienced a character-building Gran Premio Heineken d'Italia at the Autodromo di Monza. Jolyon Palmer made up a number of positions after a spirited start however contact with Felipe Nasr – for which the Sauber driver was subsequently penalized – led to retirement on safety grounds. Kevin Magnussen also made a strong start and finished in seventeenth position.
Infiniti achieved a new global sales record in August. Total sales of over 17,150 were up 2 percent vs August 2015 representing the best ever August result. From January to August, Infiniti sold almost 145,000 vehicles, an increase of 6 percent versus the same period in 2015.
